UbcH10 is a cyclin-selective ubiquitin conjugating enzyme, which together with the anaphase promoting complex (APC) regulates the destruction of mitotic cyclins and the exit from mitosis. UbcH10 is involved in the ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis of cyclins A and B, geminin H and cut2p, and for progression to anaphase. In addition, UbcH10 bears homology to yeast PAS2, a gene that is essential for biogenesis of peroxisomes. UbcH10 is useful for in vitro ubiquitinylation reactions. Typical enzyme concentration to support conjugation in vitro is 100nM to 1μM depending upon conditions.
