View All» Clone: YM366 View All» Isotype: IgG1κ View All» Background Information: TRAIL-R2 is also known as soluble Death Receptor 5 (sDR5), a single-pass type I membrane protein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily and is comprised of a single death domain and three TNFR-Cys repeats. Through association of its death domain to cytotoxic ligand TRAIL and related receptor DR4, TRAIL-R2 is a component of the preapoptotic death-inducing signaling complex, the formation of which induces proteolytic activation of caspase-8 resulting in regulated apoptosis. TRAIL-R2 also upregulates the activation of NF-kappa-B. It is expressed in a wide variety of fetal and adult tissues including heart, liver, pancreas, testis, esophagus, prostate, ovary, stomach, spleen, thymus and peripheral blood lymphocytes.
