Therefore, there is a continuous quest to not only identify, but also gain a better understanding of new pluripotency markers to better characterize the human embryonic stem cell populations of interest. The novel hPlurES-1 Antibody is a monoclonal antibody that has been shown to identify a 65 kDa antigen that is expressed on the cell surface of human embryonic stem cells. This antibody recognizes a protein epitope that appears to be expressed within a subset of Oct-4-positive human embryonic stem cell populations, as indicated by double-staining analysis using flow cytometry and immunocytochemistry.
